The YEKA GES-2024 competitions, organized by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, have been completed. A total of 67 companies participated in the competitions for a combined capacity of 800 MW in Konya, Karaman, Malatya, Van, Antalya, and Kütahya. Following the opening of sealed financial bids, the process continued with an auction, and the companies with the best offers were selected.
Intense Competition in YEKA GES-2024
The ceiling and floor prices set by the Ministry were announced as 3.25 cents/dollar per kWh. The details of the bids for the 6 regions are as follows:
Kütahya GES (40 MW): Çumra Güneş Enerjisi ve Üretim AŞ won in the 11th round with an electricity price of 3.25 cents/dollar per kWh and a contribution fee of $162,000 per MW.
Antalya GES (40 MW): Erdem Soft Tekstil AŞ submitted the best offer in the 10th round with an electricity price of 3.25 cents/dollar per kWh and a contribution fee of $122,000 per MW.
Van GES (60 MW): Chen Güneş Enerjisi LTD won in the 21st round with an electricity price of 3.25 cents/dollar per kWh and a contribution fee of $270,000 per MW.
Malatya GES (75 MW): Özerka Enerji Elektrik Üretim AŞ submitted the best offer in the 13th round with an electricity price of 3.25 cents/dollar per kWh and a contribution fee of $232,000 per MW.
Karaman GES (200 MW): Temmuz Güneş Enerji Üretim AŞ won in the 6th round with an electricity price of 3.25 cents/dollar per kWh and a contribution fee of $150,000 per MW.
Karapınar GES (385 MW): Kalyon YEKA GES 5 Elektrik Üretim AŞ submitted the best offer in the 9th round with an electricity price of 3.25 cents/dollar per kWh and a contribution fee of $67,000 per MW.
YEKA GES Projects Reduce Turkey’s Natural Gas Imports
Alparslan Bayraktar, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, emphasized that YEKA projects significantly contribute to Turkey's energy independence. He stated, "With the tenders we held today, we are preventing the import of 300 million cubic meters of natural gas annually. This translates to savings of 150million∗∗.Overthe20−yearperiod,wewillavoidnaturalgasimportsexceeding∗∗150million∗∗.Overthe20−yearperiod,wewillavoidnaturalgasimportsexceeding∗∗3 billion in total."
In line with Turkey's renewable energy goals, YEKA projects continue to ensure energy supply security while supporting domestic production and employment.
